SNMP Extensible Subagents (MIB's)
A subagent is shielded from the complexities of the SNMP protocol
and the security processed by the master agent. The master agent
and each subagent communicate using the AgentX protocol.
Subagents differ from the master agent in that they are MIB
aware and have access to managed information. We provide a set
of subagents that implement what is commonly known as MIB-II and
the HOST-RESOURCES-MIB. We also provide a service and the ability
to implement proprietary MIB's if needed.
Because our agents communicate via the industry standard AgentX
protocol you can "drop" any of our agents in any environment
that also supports this protocol. In other words, if you already
have a master agent that supports the AgentX protocol, our subagents
will function with your existing agent architecture.
